Check your eligibility
You must satisfy all of the following criteria
In order to support as many applicants as possible, the Trustees do not usually fund the whole amount required and do not award grants for expenditure which would reasonably be provided by the Local Education Authority or an educational establishment. In addition, retrospective applications cannot be considered.
Funding Guidelines
In the past the Trust has provided grants towards the costs of:
-
Equipment and clothing for school, College and University Expeditions
-
Books and other learning materials
-
Educational Trips
-
Attendance at educational events
-
Specialist courses and tuition
-
Extra curricular activities
Application Process
Please note that all applications are initially considered and reviewed anonymously by our Trustees, so please make sure you include all the information to support your application. Unless in exceptional circumstances, the Trustees will only award grants to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and will use the following guidelines when assessing applications.
The Trust:
-
Will prioritise applicants who demonstrate the need for financial assistance based on the information provided
-
Will prioritise first time applicants over repeat applications
-
Does not grant the full cost of an activity, only a contribution
-
Does not award grants retrospectively for an educational purpose or purchase that has already taken place
-
Does not award grants for more than is requested
-
Does not normally fund reoccurring, or ongoing costs, such as routine travel costs
-
Does not fund applications from immediate family members of any current Trustee
-
Will require proof of purchase if a grant is awarded for the purchase of an item
